The basics:
Thursday October 13th will be arrival day (with optional dinner). Our meetings will be held on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, ending with lunch on Sunday. We’ll be meeting in the center of town, in the Faculty of Philosophy, Oude Boteringestraat 52, 9712 GL Groningen, and in another building across the street. We’re envisioning 45-minute papers followed by a half hour of discussion.
Hotel:
We have booked hotel rooms for three nights, from Thursday until Sunday, Hotel Corps de Garde, a few doors down from the philosophy building, https://hotelcorpsdegarde.nl. We would also be happy to cover a fourth night for those of you who will be travelling from another continent; if this applies to you, please let us know. The hotel is a 15-minute walk from the Groningen central train station, though with luggage you may prefer to take a taxi.
Train from airport:
In case you’re flying: there is a straight train connection from Schiphol (=Amsterdam airport) to Groningen, departing from the airport every hour at .05 past the hour. You can also take the train in the direction of Leeuwarden at .35 and change in Zwolle (on the other side of the same platform). Either way, the train takes a little over two hours. The website for the Dutch railroad company is www.ns.nl and it also has an English version (see ‘in English’ at the top right of the page).
